Food Services

An in-school supervised lunch program is provided for students. Students may either bring lunch from home or purchase lunch/milk through the District’s Food Service program. The school offers a healthy lunch, including milk and/or juice, every day for $2.75 per day or milk a la carte for $.75 per day. Please note that our lunch program has changed; lunch/milk will no longer be pre-ordered on a monthly basis. Instead, the cost will be deducted from your child’s lunch account that you will set up on Details about the new procedures can be found on the Food Services web page and step by step directions were included in the placement letter envelope. If there is no money in a child’s account, he/she will be allowed to charge only one lunch.

Since the school does not have a kitchen, it is difficult to resolve the problem of forgotten lunches. If your child will not be purchasing school lunch, please ensure that he/she leaves home with lunch every day. If you are sending a beverage with his/her lunch, please only use a non-breakable container (no soda, please). Please also label the lunch box/bag with your child’s name/class.

In Case of Absence

Parent or guardian is required to call the school by 9:00 a.m. each day of the absence or lateness to indicate the reason for the absence/lateness.

F.E. Bellows Nurse:  Phone - 777-4610 (24 hour phone line)

A note, signed by the parent or guardian, indicating the number of days absent, dates, and reason for the absence, must be brought to the teacher or homeroom teacher upon returning to school.  An absence from school WITHOUT a note is an ILLEGAL ABSENCE.

Lateness:  Daniel Warren and F.E. Bellows - Students must report to the School Nurse immediately upon arrival, be signed in by a parent or guardian, and receive a late pass.

Visitors are welcome at F.E. Bellows. It is important, however, that an appointment be made first with Mr. Michael Scarantino.
